JonArno Lawson (Can)

JonArno Lawson is an addict of wordplay. He has seven books to his credit, including Black Stars in a White Night Sky, which received the 2007 Lion and the Unicorn Award for Excellence in North American Poetry. Lawson will bring his non-traditional lipogram, A Voweller’s Bestiary, to WordFest where he utilizes a collection of lipograms to form poetry that plays with vowel combinations and the transformative functions of letters. Lawson’s books for adults include Inklings and Love is an Observant Traveller as well as an ethnography of the Chechen people, The Chechens: A Handbook. He recently compiled and edited Inside Out: Children’s Poets Discuss Their Work.
