What Can You Expect?

Public Events (1½ hours total)

Students get to experience the electricity of WordFest events in some of Calgary’s top downtown cultural venues. Book Rapport pairs two authors for an interactive, one-hour presentation. For the last half-hour, students are invited to chat with the artists in the foyer, get autographs and take advantage of the on-site bookseller.

In-School Events (1 hour total)

Book Rapport will bring your selected author to your school for a one-hour event. Presentations by the authors will be as individual as the authors themselves. Your students will have the opportunity to be up-close-and-personal with a professional artist who will be encouraging their questions and participation.

Workshops: (NEW)

Whether for your classes, in your after school program or ticketed public event, workshops can be organised with some of the festival authors. Get your students to explore their creative writing styles with Marie-Louise Gay or Teresa Toten, or let the budding artists hone their drawing skills with Wallace Edwards. Limited tickets available.
